Rachel Latta, serves as the Organizing Director for the CoPIRG Student
Chapters. Born and raised in and around San Francisco, Rachel's family
were longterm supporters of CalPIRG in her youth. Upon enrolling at
the University of Washington she immediately got involved in the
WashPIRG Student Chapter and student government. During her years as a
student leader, Rachel served as WashPIRG State Board Chair, Chair of
the National Student Forum and a student senator. Additionally, she
ran campaigns to clean-up mercury pollution, to protect our national
forests, to stop textbook rip-offs and to put a stop to nuclear
dumping. Upon graduating from the UW in 2005 with a B.A. in American
Ethnic Studies, Rachel moved to Colorado to accept a campus organizing
position with CoPIRG.
