Campaign For Affordable Prescription Drugs

The price of prescription drugs is rising at an astronomical rate -- in 2003, Americans spent $203.1 billion on prescription drugs, an increase of $20.4 billion from the previous year. As the prices continue to rise, more and more Americans cannot afford their much-needed medications.

The good news is that Governor Ritter signed an executive order to allow Colorado to establish a preferred drug list and enabling Colorado to join a multi-state prescription drug purchasing pool. This is a practical, time-tested, free market approach to lowering prescription drug costs, making medications more accessible to more Coloradans.

Please contact the Governor thanking him for his leadership on this issue.

Tell your representative to close the smokefree loophole

There is still a loophole in the law that allows restaurants and bars to apply for a waiver if they sell cigar/tobacco. This was put in for cigar bars and not regular bars and restaurants. Email your representative and senator and let them know you would like this loophole closed.
