Campaign For Affordable Prescription Drugs
The price of
prescription drugs is rising at an astronomical rate -- in 2003,
Americans spent $203.1 billion on prescription drugs, an increase of
$20.4 billion from the previous year. As the prices continue to rise,
more and more Americans cannot afford their much-needed medications.
The
good news is that Governor Ritter signed an executive order to allow
Colorado to establish a preferred drug list and enabling Colorado to
join a multi-state prescription drug purchasing pool. This is a
practical, time-tested, free market approach to lowering prescription
drug costs, making medications more accessible to more Coloradans.
Please contact the Governor thanking him for his leadership on this issue.
