How to Place a Security Freeze

Write to all three of the reporting agencies, by certified mail, to request a security freeze be placed on your account.

Information you need to provide in your letter :
1). Full name

2). Address and previous address if applicable

3). Social Security Number - they will not process your freeze without your SSN

4). Date of birth

5). Proof of current address – a utility bill, for example

1). Equifax Security Freeze

3). Trans Union Security Freeze

Fees: In Colorado there is no fee to implement the freeze.

However, it will cost you $10 to temporarily lift the freeze and $10 to permanently remove the freeze.
