Dear CoPIRG member,
Summer will be just around the bend by the time you get this letter. You’re probably making sure that you have your plans for travel lined up. Here at CoPIRG, we’re making sure we have enough clipboards.
The summer represents a huge opportunity for our campaign and fundraising efforts—hundreds of college students and others will spend their summer canvassing for CoPIRG.
I started out as a canvasser (I won’t tell you how many years ago that was) and I still find canvassing an affirming experience. One person, talking to another person, and another person, and another person, until we have the support we need to win victories like the important drug safety bill we passed last year, the introduction of a visionary energy efficiency bill (see our front page story) or the many others I expect we’ll see later in the year.
Honestly, we couldn’t do this important work if people like you didn’t take the time to listen to the canvasser and get out your credit card or checkbook.
Thanks again for your support, and the support I hope you’ll renew this summer.
