Colorado Students Mobilizing the Youth Vote On the heels of historic youth voter turnout in the nation’s first Presidential contests in Iowa, Florida, New Hampshire and South Carolina, college students at CU Boulder and CU Denver will greet their peers returning to campus from winter break with reminders to caucus on February 5th. With the upcoming caucuses, student volunteers across the state will visit be making dozens of GOTV calls in classrooms, running caucus trainings and organizing campus events to remind students to turn out to caucus. Their goal: to ensure the voice of Colorado’s young voters is heard on Super Tuesday. This fall in Boulder, the youth vote coalition, comprised of the CoPIRG student chapter, New ERA and UCSU Student Government, registered 3,500 students to vote. Over the next few weeks the coalition will continue it’s efforts to contact at least 5,000 CU Boulder students to encourage them to caucus on February 5th. In addition, the coalition is organizing joint caucus trainings for students leading up to February 5th.
